You are in charge of your life.
Your diabetes isn't.
Diabetes touches every aspect of your life, including health, diet, fitness, emotional well-being, relationships with family, friends, colleagues and more. Finding the balance to manage your diabetes and live the life you want to live can be difficult. But, you are not alone. A Diabetes Coach is your partner in managing your diabetes and other health goals, so you can live the life you desire.
Hello, my name is Steve Mann.
I AM A DIABETES COACH AND TYPE 1 DIABETIC.
When I was diagnosed, there were no support teams for those with diabetes. There were no diabetes Facebook groups, or any groups for that matter, or online forums and the JDRF was just an idea of a group of parents.
Even with all the advancements in technology and support opportunities, those with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes still struggle to stay healthy - to manage sugars, lose weight, determine which diet and exercise plans work best or minimize complications.
I became a coach to help others with diabetes realize these health and wellness goals. And, I'd like to help you.
What is Diabetes Coaching?
People with diabetes work 24/7 to manage their sugars, but there is so much more to deal with that directly impacts diabetes wellness:
Insulin delivery systems
Handling real and potential complications
Dealing with stress
And those with diabetes deserve to achieve their wellness goals and make living with diabetes easier and healthier.
Diabetes coaching is a partnership between the coach and the client. Together, they uncover the client's personal health goals, underlying blockers and then implement the behaviors to unblock in order to meet those goals.
Support That Makes a Difference
It doesn't matter what you want to achieve or if you are a Type 1, Type 2 or parent of a child with diabetes, you deserve to acquire the skills, confidence and sustainable behaviors to get beyond your diabetes frustrations.
The Benefits of a Diabetes Coach
Diabetics are not passive observers of their health but the person most responsible for it. They are the one's in front. Much more, in fact, than any doctor, nurse or other professional. Those with diabetes are at the center of their health and wellness journey and the coach is right there to help them achieve their goals.
